Semester Program

Program

Dominican RepublicThe Language + Culture program in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic provides students with the opportunity to improve their Spanish language skills in beautiful Santiago, the second-largest city in the country. With plenty of educational excursions throughout the country, a weekly calendar of local activities, and rural and urban volunteer opportunities, this program is packed with exciting opportunities that supplement classroom content.

The CIEE Study Center is located on the campus of Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), a mere 15 minutes from downtown Santiago. Get involved in student activities at PUCMM.

Additional opportunities:
VOLUNTEER: Help out at a local school, orphanage, or home for mentally or physically challenged children. Twice a semester, you’ll also do service work in a rural community alongside locals.

Courses and Credits

All courses are taught in English except for the Spanish language courses. All students are required to take one Spanish language course and other elective courses offered by PUCMM in English. You'll take a Spanish language placement test during orientation and register for classes during this time
